Registered Nurse & Energy Medicine Practitioner

Katy Soulas

My passion for health and wellness began as a nursing career in hospitals, listening to individual’s issues, assessing vital signs, following medical protocols and teaching how to recover from illness and injury. My interests have evolved to promoting wellness through optimal health practices (nutrition, movement, rest, meditation and more) in hopes of avoiding disease and chronic illness.

More About Katy

Emergency nursing at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Morristown Memorial Hospital highlight her resume, though phone consults from family and friends and substitute nursing in her local school district add to her nursing expertise. Katy earned her B.S. in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, with a minor in Psychology and Management from The Wharton School of Business. From Stanford University, Katy achieved certification to teach Creativity in Business, and from Cornell University she became certified in Plant Based Medicine and Wellness Counseling. Katy’s interest in the brain and mind sciences prompted her to seek accreditation from the Neuro Change Institute, studying evidenced-based best practices to enhance neuroplasticity, improved cognitive function throughout the lifespan and prevention of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases.

After profound healing of her own personal life traumas, Katy completed The Four Winds Energy Medicine Certification, and is currently studying in their Masters’ Circle. The transformation she has witnessed in herself and others has made her more compassionate, empathetic, and driven to empower others to find their own inner wisdom to heal themselves from trauma, mental health issues and self-defeating behaviors of addictions.

In addition, Katy is a 1000+ hour trained yoga instructor and earned The Social Responsibility Award through the Baptiste Institute. Currently, Katy leads group meditation in an Eckert Tolle Power of Now and A New Earth Online Study, and privately teaches Baptiste Power Yoga. Through yoga, breath work, physical and verbal cues, Katy’s clients discover and deepens their strength, flexibility and conscious awareness of the present moment.

Since its inception in 2013, Katy has been on the Board of Directors of Community in Crisis, a grassroot non-profit organization created after 3 local high school graduates died from overdose. The CiC mission is to “lead and unite communities to reduce the incidence and consequences of the misuse of substances through education, prevention and holistic support in an environment free of stigma.” Katy’s focus has been on education, especially of the aging population, on proper use of prescription medication, its disposal and alternative measures of pain management.

In her free time, Katy enjoys jogging with her dog, Kya, hiking, biking and taking hot yoga classes.  She is an avid reader, and especially enjoys research.  She feels immense joy bringing chair yoga to adults recovering from cancer and chronic conditions. Finally, her favorite pastime is spending time with her grandson!

Healing Clients

I’ve been working with Katy for the last six months and I must say that she has a strong healing presence. She is attuned to holding sacred space where deep healing can occur. Her strength awakens the strength in another - she is a light carrier.

Katy's sense of the human body's alignment and what is possible for me led me deeper into my yoga practice. She encouraged me to trust my legs, and even though they were shaking with effort, I held a chair pose longer than I ever had, and I tapped into strength I never knew I had. I focused on my breath and sat lower, shaking, and forgetting I was afraid of falling. I never knew I was that strong! Funny thing too, is knowing I have this strength has opened my mind at home, becoming more patient with my four year old son.

I feel so much more empowered and centered, ready to approach the medical establishment (and my scheduled chemotherapy) from my heart, fully engaged in the present moment after working with Katy.

She encouraged me to create a sacred ceremony before going into my medical appointments to “take my power back” from the medical establishment. This simple practice has been instrumental in my own evolution as a medicine woman who is focused on thriving while living with cancer. Katy is very skilled in the art of shamanic healing and is a delight to work with! I can’t recommend her enough!
